Friends of Arise Veteran Foundation,

September is National Suicide Prevention Month – a time in which mental health advocates, prevention organizations, survivors, allies, and community members unite to promote suicide prevention awareness.

Mental health issues are rising across the board. Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the US for all ages – with approximately 130 Americans (22 Veterans) dying by suicide every day.

No one should lack the access to care that may save their life.

Convenient and quality mental health services have never been more important, and it is imperative we keep this issue top of mind for our clients. Early intervention and long term care are crucial when helping those with suicidal thoughts get the care they need.

Please find below a few resources to help spread awareness this month and make sure everyone on your book has access to the care they need:

Visit NAMI for additional educational resources, statistics and fast facts.

Check out our mental health awareness infographic here to arm yourself with the facts – feel free to share this with your clients to spread awareness this month.

If you or someone you know is in an emergency, call The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 800-273-TALK (8255) or call 911 immediately.

Let’s continue to be there for each other. You never know when your message of support may reach someone in need.

Blessings to all,

Dr. B
