Greetings Arise Vets, families and friends, on this Veterans Day!

Many Priories have engaged with activities in their local area to express support for our veterans. The response has been terrific. Among the activities in which Priories are engaging are:

  • partnering with organizations to provide meals for homeless vets through the Kaufman Fund,
  • Provinding Post Traumatic services through PTSD FOUNDATION OF AMERICA,
  • Continuing a tradition of taking part in an annual Veterans Day Parade in St. Charles,
  • Participation in Flags Across America, which places flags at Veteran graves in National Cemeteries across the United States.

As individuals we can also honor our veterans with simple acts such as placing flags in a yard for view, and even attending local ceremonies to show our support by our presence.

I would like to encourage all our members to look for opportunities in your area to honor veterans on this annual occasion that salutes the service and sacrifice of our women and men in uniform. I would also like to encourage you to send me a short email and photo sharing what you did on this day to recognize members of our armed forces.

We are grateful for all of our veterans, on this day, and always. Please remember them in your prayers.

Almighty God, we commend to your gracious care and keeping all the men and women of our armed forces at home and abroad. Defend them day by day with your heavenly grace; strengthen them in their trials and temptations; give them courage to face the perils which beset them; and grant them a sense of your abiding presence wherever they may be; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

With gratitude for all of you.
